Who can apply for political asylum in the US?

A person who can demonstrate persecution on account of political & religious affiliation;
• A person persecuted on account of their race & ethnicity;
• A person persecuted due to gender violence such as domestic violence, and/or female genital mutilation;
• A person persecuted due to their sexual orientation such as homosexuals.
